Polyfilla* Expanding Foam   
 
 
DESCRIPTION
POLYFILLA*EXPANDING FOAM is a one-component, self-expanding, ready to use polyurethane foam filler incorporating a CFC-free propellant. After extruding from the can, POLYFILLA* EXPANDING FOAM further expands while curing to a semi-rigid closed cell foam.

USES
POLYFILLA*EXPANDING FOAM is fast, convenient and economical means of filling large, irregular shaped gaps, hollows and cavities in buildings to block draughts, dust, noise, insects and birds.
 
TECHNICAL FEATURES
 
  • Convenient to use one-pack system (no mixing required).
  • Fast curing. Strong adhesion to most surfaces.
  • Extension nozzle for easy application.
  • Can be overpainted.
  • Cured product can be cut, trimmed, sanded, plastered and painted. No HCFC or CFC propellant.
  • Expands up to 2 1/2 times after application.
  • Durable (suitable for interior/exterior use), will not shrink.
 
LIMITATIONS
 
  • Not suitable for use as a fire barrier.
  • Not suitable for manufacture of flotation aids or life saving devices.
  • Will not adhere to some surfaces, eg. polyethylene, polypropylene, Teflon(r), silicone.
  • Will not block rats and mice where access holes are in current use.
  • Not suitable for filling sealed spaces where there is no exposure to moisture from the air during curing, (see "tips").
 
TIPS
 
  • Do not empty can in one continuous application.
  • Confined or large spaces are best filled in layers of up to 4cm deep. Allow each application to fully cure before applying the next.
  • Spray surface of cured product with water before re-applying.
  • Do not apply at temperatures below 5°C.
  • In exterior applications it is recommended to over paint to improve service life.
  • If attempting to block entry of rats or mice, install small mesh bird wire before applying POLYFILLA* EXPANDING FOAM, so that the wire is embedded inside the cured POLYFILLA* EXPANDING FOAM.
 
CLEAN UP
 
  • Spillages and overspray can be cleaned while still wet using a dry cloth. Nail polish remover (or acetone) will assist.
  • Once cured, POLYFILLA* EXPANDING FOAM can only be removed mechanically.
 
RE-USE
 
  • If the can is to be re-used in 24 to 48 hours, leave the applicator nozzle on the can. Unblock nozzle tip from cured product before re-use.
  • For longer-term storage remove applicator nozzle from can valve. Rinse valve thoroughly with nail polish remover (or acetone).
  • Remove cured product from the adaptor before re-using.
  • Once opened POLYFILLA* EXPANDING FOAM should be used within 4 weeks.
 
PLEASE NOTE
 
  • Do not incinerate or puncture this can even when empty.
  • Allow plenty of ventilation when applying.
  • Warning intentional misuse by deliberately concentrating and inhaling contents can be harmful or fatal.
